What do you think, in your opinion, is the greatest invention so far that helps people with disabilities? Examples might be, electric wheelchairs (if you choose wheelchairs, choose a specific type) Medications, computers, etc. Make sure you explain why!
I think electric wheelchairs because without them people that cannot use their legs couldnt get around by themself without someone else pushing them and giving them confidence. I wudnt know any spefic types but i mean the types that allow the user to control the chair.

I have a few inventions that helps people with disabilities =]. Brail, Sign language, wheelchairs, elavators ,and adaptive sports.
ReplyDeleteI think Brail is an amazing invention to help people who are blind, because it gives them a way to read and feel liked everyone else. I also think it's amazing because they learned how to make Brail easy for people to learn and read. I think without Brail it would be hard for them to communitcate.
I also think Sign language is an amazing invention ( kinda) that helps people who can not speak or hear. I use (baby) sign language with a few kids I babysit who can't talk yet. I think sign language is amazing and serves the same purpose as brail.
Wheelchairs! Power chairs, regular chairs, lift chairs, scooters, pediatric, all of them! It's hard to choose one because they all serve a similar purpose. I think though, the electric (power) chair is the most amazing, because most people who use it don't have enough force in there hands to move the wheels manually, so they can use the stick. Elevators go along with this. You can't be in a wheelchair and use the stairs, so I think elevators serve a great purpose too.
Last I think adaptive sports are amazing, because a lot of the time the person with a disability feels unaccepted and different. With the invention of adaptive sports, it gives someone with a disability the chance to do what others do, and in the same type of way!
Overall I think those are the greatest inventions to help people with special needs.

i think the best invention that was ever made for disability children was the computers. i think it was the computers because it has lots of sources they could understand. the two weeks i have been in peer tutoring i have seen how the children worked with the computers. they used the mouse and the key board to help them understand what they were doing. computers have thousands of website that can help them know what they are doing. when i was in the class helping.... i believe it was molly....i was helping her and she understood every thing the computer was saying. i could tell by the way she made her face. she smiled when something was right and everything that was wrong she would make this really mean face. so i really think that computers is a great way for learning.

I think the best invention for any person with special needs are computers. i think this because with their computer, they are able to do so much stuff such as communicate . Without the technology nowadays, people with dissabilities would have many more challenges to overcome. But, with the computer, their life is made way easier. While working with children that use computers, iv noticed that they really enjoy them and understand them very well. They learn faster with them than if you do it verbally. It allows them to interact and work things out by themselves.

I think that the greatest invention ever made to help people with a disability is the computer. We can play games on the computer, we can communicate via e-mail on the computer, we can type school essays on the computer, and we can look things up on the internet on the computer. But we rarely appreciate the computer for its ability to do things for us that some people can’t do any other way. Some of those people were born unable to physically speak, or are no longer able to due to an injury or other problem. The computer can “talk” for them by reading their thoughts and putting them into words on the computer screen. Max, for example, is very much like anyone else, except for that he doesn’t communicate the same way. He has been able to overcome his disability and live a pretty normal life, thanks to the invention of the computer.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be hard to choose a specific invention that is most important, but computers and software enabling people to use computers is very important. Without some software like eye gaze and the headmouse, many people wouldn't be able to operate a computer independently and independence is important. Computers are very important because they enable everyone to talk in person if they are unable to talk, chat on-line, write if they are not able to write physically, and so much more. Computers and the software made to help operate computers in alternative ways are very important inventions to people with disabilities.
ReplyDeleteTo me the greatist invention for childen or adualts with disabilitis is the computer. Because alot the kids have a dissablity through expressing their feelings or ways of comicating. So the computer can help them speek and lsiten to music and tell u what they are feeling and what they want. It can help them talk to you and, and you understand them. Also thier are many differnt types of computers for differnt dissabilities, they they can help many differnt types of people

I think the thing becca use the spring board is a good thing because it helps her by talkin for her and she have alot of different words to chose from. Another one is the computer the one max's uses because he can do some many things with it. it helps him type , go on the internet and do others things he need to do

I think that the computer is a great invention that helps disabled people. The computers makes it easier for disabled people to communicate and express themselves. The computer also helps disabled people learn things, like on classroom suite.

I think one of the greatest thing invented for people with disabilities is the head mouse. <ax uses the head mouse. I think the head mouse is good because it can help people who can't control their arms well. It is also good so people with disabilities can use the computer with not that much trouble.

I think Sign Language is the best invention that was made for people with disablities because it makes it possible for a person that might be deaf or mute to communicate easily. From what I have heard, sign language isn't that hard hard to learn which makes it an even better invention. Looks like that wraps it up for this post... I chose my invention and explained why. I think that brail and sign language were some of the greatest inventions for disabilities. I think that this is really good because this is letting them speak and read where they cannot. Brial is for people who cannot see, so it is letting them read and communicate and such things. Sigh language is for those who are mute or deft, making them able to talk to people like we talk to eachother just with there hands. It is so cool that they can be just like us, talk and have like inside jokes and things like that it is just cool that they can do that.

I think that computers were best invention ever made. Well, not the comuputer its self, but the softwear made so people with disabilities can talk and do things people without a disability can do. The softwear for comuters can help people write who aren't able to hand write. Also, it will help them comunicate and interact with people. One example of this kind of softwear a headmouse.
ReplyDeleteI think the best invention created was the eletric wheelchair because people like max can move around fast and efficient. People that have cerebral palsy don't always have the ability to walk or move around like we do. With this wheel chair they do have the ability to move and control where they want to go, what speed and basically when. I think this invention is really beneficial to people that have Cerebral Palsy.

The spring board is an important invention for people with disabilities. It allows those who cannot talk by themselves to be able to communicate with others. Although i don't think that this is the only greatest invention because there have been many inventions, newer and older, that have people with disabilities, such as the electric wheelchair, computer,eye gaze and headmouse, braille and other inventions that help and make the lives of people with disabilities easier.
