Week 1 Discussion Question

You have now been in peer tutoring for a little over a week. You have had a chance to observe in both Ms. Kripton's class and Ms. Diehl's class. Each classroom is unique, each student is unique, but your role will stay the same. You are here to support and model positive behavior and social communication for our students. We move quickly and don't always have a chance to get to questions you may have. This week answer the following questions:
-What do you think of peer tutoring so far?
-What question do you have, for either classroom, or about peer tutoring in general?
-What is the best thing you have done or seen so far?

Do not forget to sign your name at the bottom of each post. You get credit for your response, but if we don't know who you are---we can't grade you!

  1. I was in peer tutoring last year, so I don't have many questions to ask. I have always loved working with the students. I love getting to know these amazing kids - and I also love knowing that I am making a positive impact on their lives. I have formed great friendships with the students, and I enjoy every minute I spend with them. The best thing I have done so far this year in peer tutoring would be helping Jack and Lorenzo with their SRA activities. I am looking forward to spending time with all of the students.

i have been in peer tutoring for just this week, and i have been treating with Lorenzo I've been learning how to have patience with kids that may help me more for me to treat my cousin better. I have one question why do they have kids from different grades together in a same class. I like helping Lorenzo with his work and stuff he has to do I am sure later on i will communicate better with the students in this class.

  4. In the short two days I've been in peer tutoring, I've noticed a lot in the classroom environment. I've really liked it thus far, although all I've done is evaluate Emma. I'm sure as time goes on and as I get to spend more time with these spectacular kids, I will have too many favorite things to chose. So far, I don't have any specific questions for anyone, but I'm a curious kid and I'm positive I will develop some. The best thing I've done so far, as well as the most touching, was merely watching Lorenzo and Emma have a conversation. All the kids in this class have such a positive attitude, they're all so excited to do everything. It's all smiles in here, and I'm only more excited to see the fantastic things that these kids will achieve during the time I spend with them.

I have enjoyed peer tutoring so far because i have liked the chance to be able to get things ready for the students to do.
My question is do the students stay in either teachers classroom all year?
The best thing that i have done so far is knowing that i am making a positive impact on the kids and making sure that they are doing the best that they can do.

  14. 1. So far, I really love peer tutoring. I have it first period, so I get to start my day off seeing all of the students in Ms. Diehl and Ms. Kripton's classes. I love being welcomed into the room by everyone. All of the students are a lot of fun to work with and I really enjoy helping them.

    2. My only question is, "What trimester assignments to we have other than the blogs?"

    3. The best part of peer tutoring has been getting to know the students and how they learn. They all have such unique personalities and I am interested in the different ways they do their work. I see it's very helpful for them when they write their e-mails in Classroom Suite and then transfer them to their e-mail. Some students use slantboards to help them write and they are very familiar with the tools they use to help with their work. I learn a lot from the students and how they use learning tools at school everyday.
