How do you think other students in the school perceive the students in Ms. Diehl and Ms. Kripton's class? Are they looked at like like any other student, or differently?
I think that the students in Ms.Diehl class and Ms. Kripton's class are for sure treated the same as any other student at our school. They are one of us so you should not make fun of them or judge them at all. The only time you should judge them if you say something nice about them.
I think that the students in Ms.Diehl's class and Ms.Kripton's class as respected more than another students in our school because no one every bullies them and judges them and I think it should stay like that because they are in are grade and they should be respected cause they are just like all of us. -Brando Crawford
I've only seen one person insult or otherwise pick on a student in special ed since I came to this school, and it turns out she is in special ed as well. All the other students are at least somewhat respectful and sympathetic towards them, even if they aren't to their peers that they see more often. Only a total self-centered jerk would make fun of the students in Ms. Deihl or Ms. Kripton's class. I just wish those people would treat everyone that way. -Moira Larkin
I'm pretty sure that everyone else looks at the students in Ms. Deihl's and Ms.Kripton's class the same way they look at everybody else. They all understand that these kids have special needs and they respect them. I honestly think they respect them more than kids without this problem. Though of course the students in the school become curious of the students in Ms. Deihl's and Ms. Kripton's class, but they still look at them like they do with everybody else. - Danielle Bidigare
I'm pretty sure that the kids in Ms. Deihl's and Ms. Kripton's class are treated the same as the other kids. I think that some people my think their weird or different, but they are just like us. People my think they are kind of weird or different and my be curious about them, but they are just like us and shouldn't be treated differently.
I do think that most people respect the kids that are in Ms Deihl's and Ms. Kripton's class. I know for a fact most people have a sense of respect for kids with disabilities. I know some people feel unfortable in with some kids. But i think that as time goes one people learn more about these disabilities, and stop making fun of them. And if people can never get that respect then they need help.
I think that the other students at the school treat the students in Ms. Diehl's and Ms. Kripton's classes the same way they treat everybody else. I think this because when I see the other students talking to the kids in Ms.Diehl's and Ms. Kripton's class they help them with stuff and they don't act like complete jerks to them. Also the other kids treat the kids in Ms. Diehl's and Ms. Kripton's classes with respect, they don't laugh or make fun of any of the kids. -Rachel Fore
Well I do agree with the above that many student here respect students with special needs, I find that there are students who will either point and laugh or be over patronizing. Some students don't mean it disrespectfully, but can act like students in Ms. Diehl and Ms. Kriptons classes are fragile objects not to be messed with. I know for a fact you can have a good and interesting conversation with anyone from Ms. Diehl's calss and Maddie and Molly at the least in Ms. Kripton's class. For example, even with Maddie, if you can't get her to respond, she can play a great hand game, and is always open to learn a new one. And, she can easily play games even i find hard. We do have respectful students, but I guess there is TOO much respect in this case.
I think that for the most part the students in Ms. Kripton's and Ms. Diehl's class are treated the same as everyone else in the school. I guess that other part is that some kids are curious about why the students in Ms. Diehl and Ms. Kripton's class are in Ms. Kripton and Ms. Diehl's class. I agree with Sophie in many ways, some kids don't know that they are disrespecting them but they do because they think that people like Max can't be talked to or are to fragile to do anything. Katie Appell
I think that the students in ms kriptons class and ms diehls class are treated the same as any othere student in this school. except for when people think that just because your in a diffrent class or something like that.that is when they start to treat the students diffrent. Warren Sturdivant
I think that the students in Ms. Kripton and Ms. Dielhs class are treated the same as other students. But I think some people may think in there head something not so nice about the students, but for the most part, they seem to treat the students nicer than they sometimes treat there friends.
I think the kids in ms.Kripton and ms.Diehl's class are being treated the same way from the way i see it and all of them are smart kids and also people need to know that these kids are so nice to you people think that just because they are in the class were they need help they are not but i bet if you ever meet these kids you would say wow they are very smart Ive had a friend who came up to me and said you are in the slow class with those slow kids I said those kids are not slow they are kids just like you and they are very intelligent than you think they are they know how to do every thing that you do and probably more that any one who judges these kids are wrong because these kids are so smart and nice and popular. I look at them the same way. I see no point in judgin kids that have disibiltes or are in special education class. It is something they can not help. Other people sometimes judge them but usaly not to be mean, usaly because they don't understand what there disibilty is and they don't know how to react. Sometimes kids with disibiltes in the classes at Brooks get special treatment in a good way too! - Marissa Kolsen
I think in this day and age people understand people with disabilties more. Probally about ten years ago poeple were making jokes left and right. Now there are only a couple people who thinks its funny to put other people down. But i think we could limit it to none if the school were to educate the people who don't understand students with disabilites. Don't forget no ones perfect and if we work together we wont have to worry about who's perfect or not.
I think after taking brooks for three years every year they got treated better. in sixth grade a couple people thought they were different because they never really met different kids before. This year I havent heard one bad thing about them! -Luke Gawne
well, i think that some of the kids have never seen children like the ones in the two classes before and i think that they are intimidated by them. i have never heard anyone say anything bad about the kids in ms. diehls or ms. kripons class. i do hear people every day talk about them in a good way. today i even heard people saying how smart and cool max is. it makes me feel good when i hear people saying this because i can say that i infact get to hang out with these students everyday and i always have a blast!
I think that the students in Ms.Diehls and Ms. Kripton's classes are treated pretty much the same as every other student, except for maybe approached with a little more caution. I have seen that whenever anyone comes up and talks to a student from one of those classes, they are usually pretty friendly but not always sure on exactly how to talk with them. Sometimes there are one or two kids who must have such low self estem that they feel the need to pick on some of these students behind their backs, but I think those people are almost always reprimened by their friends. -nadine Peterson
